At a meeting of Cheshire West & Chester Council last night, local Conservatives proposed some practical and affordable measures to boost our high street with free parking and free travel in the run up to Christmas and a little beyond.
Every single Labour councillor voted AGAINST.
We proposed to utilise £1.0m of Council resources arising from budget mitigations to fund:
- Free parking in all Council owned car parks after 10h00 Friday-Sunday until 31/03/2021
- Free parking in all Council owned car parks after 3pm Monday-Thursday until 31/03/2021; and
- Free travel on Chester Park and Ride after 10h00 Friday-Sunday until 31/03/2021.
