Your local Conservative candidate for Parkgate, Lynn Turnbull, has written the following letter to residents of the Parkgate ward.
Dear resident,
I’m Lynn Turnbull, a local resident who cares passionately about the future of Parkgate and wants to see the best for our area. That’s why I’ve put myself forward to be your Councillor.
As many of you will know, Parkgate currently has an “independent” Councillor. But I don’t think that’s working for our community. Why?
Because our current “independent” often votes with Labour Councillors against the interests of Parkgate, including supporting Labour’s recent budget which imposed another eye-watering Council Tax rise on local residents. That's why Labour is hoping Parkgate doesn’t elect a new Conservative Councillor and would rather keep the current "independent."
What’s more, an “independent” Councillor is just a lone voice on the Council, unable to work with a team of colleagues to deliver the investment that Parkgate needs. As a local Conservative Councillor, I will work with my colleagues on the Council to get things done.
What would Conservative action look like in Parkgate? It would mean scrapping the Green Bin Tax, the unfair £40 charge for having green waste collected. It would mean ending the record Council Tax rises which have seen our taxes increase by 40% since 2016-17. And it would mean an extra £1.5 million investment in our roads and pavements.
Our community is fortunate to have so many residents who care deeply about what happens in Parkgate and the surrounding area. I will always put the needs of the community first, and will work with you to make it an even better place to live. Above all, I would be Parkgate’s champion in the Council.
Yours sincerely,
Lynn Turnbull
