Luke Sharples, your Conservative candidate in Whitby Park ward, has written the below letter to local residents.
Dear Resident,
Are you happy with how your Council Tax is spent?
Are you happy with the condition of the roads and pavements?
Are you satisfied with paying £40 per year for your green waste to be collected, when you already pay so much in Council Tax?
As a local resident, my answer to all three questions was “no.” That’s why I am standing to be your local Councillor.
I share the concerns people have about our area and your frustration with a Council that simply doesn’t listen to our views.
I also share the frustration of many residents who feel their voice has simply not been heard on the Hydrogen Village. That’s why I’ve called for an independent ballot on the future of this project in our area.
But I can only deliver positive change for our community with your support and your vote. As your Councillor, I will help keep our streets clean, ensure our parks are kept green, stop unfair charges for green waste collection and consult you, local residents, about how our community is run.
It is time to restore pride in Whitby Park ward. It’s time for change.
Yours sincerely,
Luke Sharples
