We all know that our town centres need a boost. The pressures of the Covid pandemic, along with recent price rises, have hit many shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Local Conservatives have pledged to boost business whilst cutting costs for residents with a borough-wide ‘Free After 3’ parking scheme.
News of the pledge has been welcomed by many local residents who remember the scheme from when the Conservatives last controlled Cheshire West & Chester Council. Then, ‘Free After 3’ parking helped support our local high streets.
Nicholas Hebson, one of your local candidates for Ledsham & Manor, said: “Under this policy, parking after 3pm in Council car parks will be completely free. That will mean you can go to the shops or eat out at a restaurant and not have to worry about the parking meter.”
His ward colleague, Ike Efobi, added: “Alongside the £13 million investment from the Conservative government in Ellesmere Port, provided through the Levelling Up Fund, this will be a great boost for businesses and residents throughout the area.”
Car parks which are currently free will not see any new charges imposed as part of the scheme.
