Ellesmere Port & Neston Conservatives want to thank everybody who voted Conservative at the General Election.
Around 16,000 people – more than in any election for 23 years – went to the polls to support the Conservatives. And although it wasn’t enough to elect a Conservative MP for our area, across the country voters delivered a Conservative Majority Government and returned David Cameron to Downing Street.
Katherine Fletcher, who stood for the Conservatives at the election, said:
“I want to thank everybody who voted in the General Election.
“Here in Ellesmere Port & Neston, this election was hard fought. All of the candidates are passionate about our area and we had a great debate about what’s best for the future of our towns and the nation.
“I’m honoured to have had the support of so many people across Ellesmere Port & Neston and only sorry that we couldn’t do enough to secure a win here on the night.”
Alongside the General Election, Council elections were also held for Cheshire West & Chester Borough Council. Several Conservative Councillors were elected for the Ellesmere Port & Neston area. They are:
- Cllr Myles Hogg for Willaston & Thornton
- Cllr Gareth Anderson for Ledsham
- Cllr Nigel Jones for Little Neston & Burton
- Cllr Margaret Parker for Chester Villages
- Cllr Stuart Parker for Chester Villages
