Local campaigner Steve Wastell has been in discussions with residents about the future of the Wheatsheaf pub in Ness.
Steve is keen to see the pub, which has been closed for some time, retained for the benefit of local residents. This has led to him exploring options for re-opening the Wheatsheaf as a community-owned pub.
He has so far presented on the idea at Ness Village Hall and spoken to many nearby residents on the doorstep. During those discussions, the suggestion of a community pub was well received.
Steve has also been in touch with the brewery and the Plunkett Foundation, an organisation that supports community-owned businesses, to identify next steps if there is enough support.
