After eight years of eye-watering Council Tax rises from Labour, local Conservatives have pledged to end the “tax to the max” policy of the Council.
Since 2016/17, Labour has hiked your Council Tax by an eye-watering 34% and introduced new charges for collecting green waste.
Brian Anderson, who is standing for Whitby Groves, said:
“The cost of living is an issue for everyone right now. Some things are beyond our control - such as the energy price rise following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
“But other costs are down to local decisions, such as Council Tax. If elected, I will work with other Conservative Councillors to end Labour's eye-watering tax rises for local residents."
Local Conservatives will streamline Council services and engage staff in efficiencies to and deliver financial savings and keep costs under control. It's time to end "tax to the max."
